With the majestic Himalayan ranges as its backdrop, the Valley of Flowers National Park offers visitors an ethereal view and an unforgettable experience. Spanning an area of 87 square kilometers in the Chamoli district, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and serves as one of the two core zones of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, alongside the Nanda Devi National Park.
The Valley of Flowers was believed to have been discovered in 1931 by three British mountaineers, led by Frank S. Smythe, who stumbled upon the valley after losing their way. Captivated by the stunning beauty of the area, they aptly named it the “Valley of Flowers.”.
